There were some significant changes in the afternoon model
runs today so I decided to re-do the 10-day forecast. There is now a greater chance of the rain
changing to snow before ending on Tuesday morning, with the possibility of a
dusting to an inch of accumulation in some locations. Then there is a slight chance of more snow on
Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. The
European and American models keep this storm just to the south of us, but the
British, Japanese and Canadian models all bring the storm far enough to the
north to give us a significant snowstorm on Tuesday night into Wednesday
morning, so this situation needs to be watched closely. The next possible storm would be on Friday as
the European model shows a rather strong storm in the Southeastern United
States that it slides out to sea safely to the south of us, but there is always
the possibility that this storm could come further north on Friday, so this
will also have to be watched closely. The
European model then shows a chance of some snow on Sunday and a more important
possibility of snow for next Monday.
Check back for updates.
