Friday, December 20th, 2013 - Evening Weather Discussion

Temperatures will reach the mid 50's tomorrow, then the low to mid 60's on Sunday although there will be a chance of showers from Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning.  Then on Sunday afternoon showers will be likely.  On Monday a cold front will approach, bringing a chance for showers all day, possibly heavy at times, and possibly changing to snow flurries before ending as the cold front moves through on Monday night.  Christmas Eve day we will again have a chance for some snow showers or flurries that have the potential to whiten the ground just in time for Christmas with a dusting of snow.  Christmas Day should then be nice but cold.  On Thursday a low pressure area is likely to form along the coast, bringing a chance for rain or snow from Thursday afternoon through Friday morning depending on the track that it takes.  Temperatures should then get quite cold for next weekend.  Then we will have to watch for the possibility of a rather significant storm to start taking shape along the Gulf Coast next Monday.  This storm should then track northeast towards us for New Year's Eve, bringing with it a chance for a significant snowstorm. After this storm passes we will then have to watch for the possibility of another storm for the following weekend.
