We will get some light snow and flurries this morning,
ending around 11 am with dusting to a half of an inch of accumulation
likely. Light rain will then develop
around 6-7 pm and continue through the night, becoming heavy in the afternoon
on Saturday and continuing into the evening.
Some flooding is likely as the heavy rain will combine with temperatures
in the mid to upper 50’s to create snow melt and possible ice jams along local
rivers and streams. Ice jams are
extremely dangerous and if they do develop, they can cause severe flooding with
little warning, so if you know of anyone who lives or works near a river or
stream, please tell them to be on the lookout.
We will then have a chance of a snow shower on Sunday, then another
storm will bring us heavy rain and flooding on Tuesday. After that storm passes, my potential
Wednesday storm that I started talking about a week ago once again appears on
the models. However, it misses us just
to the south and east, giving areas from South Jersey to South Carolina some
snow on Wednesday but staying just to our south and east on Wednesday and
Thursday. We will however need to keep a
close eye on this storm, just in case it takes a track a bit further north or
west. After that storm passes we will
have a chance of some snow showers next Friday and Saturday morning, then a
chance of rain or snow the following Tuesday and Wednesday.
