Wednesday, April 16th, 2014 - Morning Weather Discussion

Well, it did snow last night, but as suspected, it did have a hard time accumulating, with just a light dusting of snow at my location, although some places did get up to 1.5 inches of snow last night.  Interestingly, the highest snowfall totals were recorded in both Monmouth and Sussex Counties with 1.5 inches in Freehold, Monmouth County and 1.0 inches recorded in Manalapan, Monmouth County, while Highland Lakes in Sussex County got 1.5 inches and Wantage in Sussex County got 1.0 inches.

Click here to view the snowfall totals from the National Weather Service.  This is all pretty amazing since it was 80 degrees just three days ago, then 75 the day before last.  I don’t remember ever seeing snow in April after hitting 80 degrees.

Moving forward it will be nice but cool through Friday with highs only in the mid to upper 40’s today, around 50 tomorrow, and in the low to mid 50’s on Friday.

The holiday weekend should be pretty nice with warmer temperatures and just a slight chance of showers on Saturday.  Highs will be in the low 60’s on Saturday and around 60 on Easter Sunday.

Next week should start out warmer with highs around 70 Monday through Wednesday, dropping to the 60’s after that with a chance of showers from time to time.
