Tuesday, October 21, 2014 - Morning Weather Discussion

Well, I had been talking about the possibility of a Nor'easter for the middle of this week for around 2 weeks now and it is about to happen.  A storm system will approach the East Coast today, causing a Nor'easter to develop tomorrow and Thursday, then slowly move out on Friday.  This will bring us some damp weather today through Friday, with the worst of the weather being tomorrow morning with some steady rain likely.  The rest of the time there will be just be a chance of some showers.

Highs will be around 60 today, dropping to the 50’s tomorrow through Friday.

We may then see an extended period of nice weather for Saturday through next Thursday with highs around 60 on Saturday, dropping to the mid to upper 50’s for Sunday and Monday, then possibly rising to the low 70’s on Tuesday ahead of an approaching cold front, then dropping back to the mid to upper 50’s next Wednesday and Thursday behind the front.  The front should be dry.

The only possible wrinkle with this forecast would be the small possibility of a storm developing in the Southeast Gulf of Mexico.  Right now it does not look as if this storm will develop, hence the dry forecast.  If by any chance this storm were to develop, it would bring us some rain for the middle of next week, but that currently looks unlikely.

Next Friday through Monday currently looks variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower each day and highs in the 50’s to around 60.

The period just beyond this forecast still looks as if it could bring us much colder winter-like temperatures with a small chance of some winter-like precipitation as well.  We shall see…
