Coldest morning of the winter in some locations this morning…
Right now the temperature is 1 degree at my location. This is the coldest it has been so far this
winter.
A weak storm system will approach today from the west,
causing light snow to develop between 7 pm and 10 pm from west to east. The snow will end between 1 pm and 3 pm on Friday
afternoon. Total accumulations will be
1- 3 inches.
Saturday will be nice but cold with lows in the low to mid
single digits and highs around 20.
Sunday a storm system will approach from the Southeastern
United States. This storm will have the
potential to bring us significant accumulations of snow late on Sunday night
through the day on Monday, depending on how far north the storm comes. There is a small chance that the storm could
miss us to the south and east, but I do think a significant accumulation of
snow is likely with this storm. The snow
should start between 10 pm and midnight on Sunday night and end between 4 pm
and 7 pm on Monday.
Tuesday should then be nice but very cold with low around
zero and highs around 20.
Then for the middle to end of next week there is a chance of
one or two storm systems developing along the East Coast that would bring us
chances for snow. At the moment however,
I am not able to determine exactly when or if these storms will actually
threaten us. They could occur anytime
between next Wednesday and next Saturday morning, so I introduced variably
cloudy skies with chances for snow from Wednesday through next Saturday
morning.
We should then have nice weather next Sunday and Monday
before the next chance of snow arrives next Wednesday.
