Thursday, November 26, 2015 - Morning Weather Discussion

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I am especially thankful for my family and all of my extended family (those of you who read this blog every day). THANK YOU!

Thankfully, it warms up just in time for the holiday. Then a cold front approaches for the weekend with some unpleasant weather. Then next weekend…

Thankfully it is warming up just in time for our holiday today and tomorrow. Then a cold front will approach on Saturday bringing us a chance of showers for the weekend with highs mainly in the 40’s and even a chance of a bit of freezing rain in some northern locations late on Saturday night into early Sunday morning, so watch out for that possibility.

Monday should then be cloudy between storms with highs only from the upper 30’s to the mid 40’s.

Tuesday there will be a chance of showers, possibly heavy at times at night as a cold front approaches. Highs will be around 50.

Wednesday and next Thursday there will be variably cloudy skies with a chance of a rain or snow shower behind the cold front. Highs will be around 50 on Wednesday, dropping to the mid 40’s next Thursday.

Next Friday should be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 40’s.

Things continue to be uncertain as we head into next weekend. The storm that was originally looking like a possibility for Friday has slowed up a bit and now will threaten us next Saturday night and Sunday.

Next Saturday a storm system will be sliding eastward along the Gulf Coast at the same time that a weak storm system is dropping down into the Central United States from Canada. If these two storms combine, they would have the potential to turn into a powerful Nor’easter, threatening us with heavy rain or snow next Saturday night and Sunday. However, I continue to lean against these two pieces coming together. I have left the chance in my forecast, just in case, as I always feel it is better to be safe than sorry. We will just have to wait and see.

After the potential storm passes next weekend we would have a chance of a lingering rain or snow shower next Monday, followed by mostly sunny weather next Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs will be in the mid to upper 40’s.
