Friday, May 27, 2016 - Morning Weather Discussion

Hot through Sunday, and then for Memorial Day…

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

If you have not already done so, download the Edgeweather App from Google Play Store and the Apple App Store!  Push notifications are enabled!  And for those of you who have the app, yes, that satellite picture is Superstorm Sandy before she made her turn and hit NYC.

A few showers moved through our area this morning but they will clear out and the rest of the day should be pretty nice, with just a chance of a late afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be mainly in the mid to upper 80’s, with some low 90’s possible. It will however be cooler near the coast and on Long Island.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny with just a slight chance of a late afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm. Highs should be mainly in the upper 80’s to low 90’s, with some mid 90’s possible. Temperatures will however be cooler along the coast and on Long Island.

Sunday will be variably cloudy with a chance of afternoon and evening showers or thunderstorms. Highs will again be mainly in the upper 80’s to low 90’s, with some mid 90’s possible. Temperatures will however be cooler along the coast and on Long Island.

Unfortunately, Memorial Day a storm system will form along the coast at the same time that a weak frontal system approaches from the west. This will bring us some rain that could be heavy at times in the morning, and could continue into the afternoon and possibly the evening in some areas. There may be some clearing late in the day. Highs should be mainly in the low to mid 70’s, but cooler again on Long Island.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny and hot again with highs mainly in the mid to upper 80’s with some low 90’s possible. It will again be cooler along the coast and on Long Island.

Wednesday should continue to be nice, but possibly a bit cooler with highs in the low to mid 80’s.

Thursday we will have increasing cloudiness with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms as a cold front approaches from the west. Highs will be in the low to mid 80’s.

Next Friday we will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms as a strong cold front moves through our area. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70’s.

Next Saturday through Monday should then be nice but cooler with highs in the low to mid 70’s.

Next Tuesday through Thursday will be variably cloudy with a chance of showers or thunderstorms each day as a cold front slowly approaches from the west. Highs will rise from the mid 70’s next Tuesday to the mid to upper 70’s next Wednesday and then the upper 70’s to low 80’s next Thursday.

Stay cool and have a fantastic day!
