Thursday, May 26, 2016 - Evening Weather Discussion

Hot through Sunday, and then for Memorial Day, well...

If you have not already done so, download the Edgeweather App from Google Play Store and the Apple App Store!  Push notifications are enabled!  And for those of you who have the app, yes, that satellite picture is Superstorm Sandy before she made her turn and hit NYC.

It will be hot through Sunday with highs continuing in the mid 80's to low 90's, with some mid 90's possible Sunday, especially in Northeastern NJ. There will be a chance of an afternoon or evening thunderstorm each day.

Then, unfortunately, Memorial Day is really not looking good. We will have a good chance of rain for Memorial Day as a storm system will develop along the coast at the same time that a weak front approaches our area from the west. This will likely bring us some heavy rain on Monday morning that could continue into the afternoon. With the heavy rain, highs will only be in the low to mid 60's along the coast and the upper 60's to low 70's inland.

Then it will warm back up for Tuesday with highs in the mid to upper 80's, before cooling back down to the 70's to low 80's through the end of next week and into the following week. We will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms next Thursday as a cold front approaches from the west, clearing us out for next weekend, but things may then get unsettled heading into the beginning to middle of the following week.

Stay cool and have a wonderful evening!
