Tropical Storm Hermine May Now Affect OUR Area as Well!!!

For the past couple of days I had mentioned that a tropical storm or hurricane could make landfall on Florida, then affect coastal Georgia and Carolinas, then could loop back around and possibly affect coastal sections of our area early next week. Well, now the models this afternoon shifted the storm track even further west, bringing is right up the East Coast and into our area, then stalling it out. If this new track were to verify it would bring the possibility of Tropical Storm conditions to most of our area, starting as early as Saturday afternoon through Sunday, and possibly into Labor Day.

The European model is the most concerning of the models right now, taking the storm to just off the NJ Coast Sunday morning, then stalling it out and spinning it around, possibly affecting coastal locations into Labor Day, and possibly producing high surf through much of next week.

Let's keep a close eye on this situation.

In the meantime, we will have a chance of some showers and thunderstorms this evening into early tomorrow, and then things will clear out, leaving us with a nice Friday. Highs should be in the upper 70's to mid 80's.

Saturday could very well now be a cloudy day, with the possibility of rain developing from south to north throughout the day. Highs should be in the low to mid 70's.

Sunday could be a rainy and windy day, with tropical storm conditions possible throughout much of our area. Highs should be in the 60's to low 70's with the northeast winds off the ocean.

Monday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm and highs in the 70's.

Tuesday through next Tuesday should then be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm from time to time, especially next Monday and Tuesday as a cold front approaches our area. Highs should be in the 80's since it now appears that Tropical Storm Hermine could continue to spin off the coast for some time, driving northeasterly winds into our area. If Hermine takes a track further offshore and departs, temperatures would rise to the 90's.

Have a wonderful evening and let's keep a close eye on Hermine, especially if you were planning a trip to the shore this weekend, or have coastal property.
