Thursday, October 27, 2016 - Morning Weather Discussion

A bit of wintry weather for some this morning…

There will be a bit of wintry weather for parts of Northeastern PA, far Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State and Northern Fairfield County, CT, today as a storm system moves through our area. There will be rain to the south of there today. Areas that receive any snow/sleet/freezing rain this morning will change over to rain by early afternoon as temperatures start to warm. Any accumulations should be light, but moderate snow/ice accumulations are possible in the higher elevations of Western Monroe County, PA, Northern Wayne and Pike Counties in PA, in Northern Orange and Putnam Counties in NY, and in Northern Fairfield County, CT, with significant accumulations likely in Sullivan and Ulster Counties in NY. Temperatures will rise into the night, with nighttime highs in the upper 40’s in Northeastern PA, the mid 40’s to low 50’s in Orange County, NY, the low 50’s in Northwestern NJ, Putnam County, NY, and in Northern Fairfield County, CT, the low to mid 50’s in East Central PA, Northeastern NJ, Rockland and Westchester Counties in NY, and Southern Fairfield County, CT, the mid 50’s in NYC, and the upper 50’s to low 60’s in Central NJ and on Long Island.

Tomorrow and Saturday will then be variably cloudy with just a slight chance of a shower Saturday. Highs will range from the mid 40’s in Northeastern PA to the mid 50’s in Central NJ tomorrow, and will be mostly in the low to mid 60’s Saturday.

Sunday, we will have a chance of showers with highs ranging from the mid to upper 50’s in Northeastern PA to the upper 60’s to low 70’s in Central NJ.

Monday then looks nice with highs mainly in the low to mid 50’s.

Tuesday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower at night. Highs will be mainly in the mid to upper 50’s.

Wednesday and next Thursday then look nice with highs mainly in the 60’s next Wednesday and in the mid 50’s to low 60’s next Thursday.

Next Friday will be variably cloudy with a chance of showers and highs in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Next weekend a storm may form near the Middle Atlantic States. This storm could bring us unsettled weather with a chance of rain next Saturday and showers next Sunday through Wednesday. We will also have to wait and see exactly how and where this storm develops as cold air will be sitting just to our north. Highs should be in the 40’s in northern sections next Saturday and the 50’s in most southern sections, and in the 40’s to low 50’s next Sunday and Monday, rising to the mid 40’s and 50’s next Tuesday, and the 50’s next Wednesday.

Have a fantastic day!
