Tuesday, October 25, 2016 - Morning Weather Discussion

Some snow/ice possible Thursday morning in parts of our area…

Today and tomorrow will be nice but cool, with highs mainly in the upper 40’s to low 50’s today and the mid 40’s to low 50’s tomorrow. Lows will drop as low as the upper 20’s in the coldest locations of East Central and Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Orange and Putnam Counties in NY, and in Fairfield County, CT tomorrow morning, with freezing temperatures possible as far south and east as Central and Northeastern NJ.

Thursday a low pressure area will approach from the west, bringing a chance of  rain, snow or sleet developing early in the morning north of about Rt. 78 in East Central PA and Northwestern NJ, and north of about Rt. 80 in Northeastern NJ, quickly changing to rain in most locations, but possibly remaining sleet and freezing rain into the afternoon in the highest elevations of the Poconos and up into Sullivan and Ulster Counties in NY State. A dusting of snow and sleet accumulation is possible north of roughly Rt. 80, with light accumulations possible in Northeastern PA, far Northwestern NJ, Orange and Putnam Counties in NY, and in Northern Fairfield County, CT, with the possibility of significant snow and ice accumulation in Sullivan and Ulster Counties in NY. There will be all rain south of roughly Rt. 78, with lows in the low to mid 30’s in Northeastern PA, the mid 30’s in East Central PA, Northwestern NJ, Orange and Putnam Counties in NY Southeastern NY State and in Fairfield County, CT, the mid 30’s to low 40’s in Northeastern NJ, the low 40’s in NYC and on Long Island, and in the low to mid 40’s in Central NJ. HIGHS will be in the mid to upper 30’s in Northeastern PA, extreme Northwestern Sussex County, NJ, and Northwestern Orange County, NY, the 40’s in East Central PA, the rest of Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State and in Fairfield County, CT, the upper 40’s to mid 50’s in Northeastern NJ, the low to mid 50’s in NYC and on Long Island, and in the mid to upper 50’s in Central NJ

Friday should then be nice with highs mainly in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Saturday and Sunday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower as two disturbances pass through our area. Highs will be mainly in the mid 40’s to low 50’s Saturday, warming to the 60’s in most locations Sunday, with some low 70’s possible in Central NJ.

Monday through next Thursday then look nice and warmer, with highs rising from the mid 40’s to mid 50’s Monday, to the low to mid 60’s in most places next Wednesday and Thursday.

Next Friday and Monday will be variably cloudy, with a chance of a shower and highs in the mid to upper 50’s next Friday, and mid 40’s to low 50’s next Monday.

Next Saturday and Sunday look nice with highs in the 40’s.
