Friday, December 15, 2017 - Morning Weather Discussion

Accumulating snow possible this afternoon and evening…

Well, surprise, surprise, the disturbance this afternoon and evening is now projected to intensify quite a bit when it reaches the coast. This will mean the possibility of some accumulating snow throughout our area this afternoon and evening and possibly a dangerous evening commute. Highs will be in the mid 20’s to low 30’s.

Total possible accumulations are as follows:

Coating to an inch:  East Central and Northeastern PA, Northern NJ, Southeastern NY state, and Fairfield County, CT

1-2 inches:  NYC

1-3 inches: Central NJ and on Long Island

Tomorrow will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower as some Lake Effect moisture could make it into our area. Highs will be in the 30’s.

Sunday clouds will increase late in the day with a chance of a snow shower late at night as a disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the 30’s.

Monday there will be a chance of a snow shower early in the morning, then it will be variably cloudy with a chance of a rain or snow shower. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Tuesday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a rain or snow shower. Highs will be in the 40’s to low 50’s.

Wednesday and Thursday then look nice with highs in the 30’s to low 40’s Wednesday and the mid 30’s to low 40’s Thursday.

Next Friday will be variably cloudy with a chance of rain showers, and it will be warm, as warm air surges into our area ahead of an approaching cold front. Highs will be in the 50’s.

Next Saturday through Thursday then look nice with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s next Saturday, the upper 20’s to mid 30’s Christmas Eve, the 30’s Christmas Day, and the upper 20’s to mid 30’s next Tuesday through Wednesday.

Have a fantastic day!
