Friday, February 23, 2018 - Evening Weather Discussion

Yes, there is a chance for a Grande Finale to this winter…

An approaching disturbance will bring more rain tomorrow afternoon through Sunday morning. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s Saturday and the 40’s to low 50’s Sunday.

Monday through Wednesday then look nice with highs in the 50’s, except some upper 40’s possible along the coast and on Long Island.

Thursday clouds will increase with a chance of rain or snow developing at night as a strong disturbance approaches from the west, possibly turning into a strong Nor’easter near the NJ Coast. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Next Friday there will be a chance of rain or snow, and it could be heavy at times, as a Nor’easter may strengthen along the NJ Coast, then move slowly eastward. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s. This storm has the potential to become quite intense and could drop very heavy precipitation due its slow- moving nature, as there will be a strong block set up along the East Coast late next week and into the following week. We will need to keep a close eye on this storm. Whether this storm is rain or snow will be dependent upon exactly where and how this storm develops.

Next Saturday and Sunday will then be nice with highs in the 40’s.

Next Monday clouds will increase with a chance of rain or snow developing at night as another strong disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the 40’s.

Next Tuesday and Wednesday there will be a chance of rain or snow as the approaching disturbance may once again develop into an intense and slow-moving Nor’easter near the NJ Coast as it encounters the strong block near the East Coast. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Next Thursday will then be nice with highs in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.

Have a wonderful evening and please join me in the morning for the latest on the potential Grand Finale to this winter…
