Thursday, February 22, 2018 - Morning Weather Discussion

Cooler and very unsettled weather ahead…

Well, yesterday was just unreal with a high of 76 degrees here at my weather station in Allamuchy, Warren County, NJ, and a high of an incredible 80 degrees at Newark Airport and 78 degrees at Central Park, NY. These were all record highs for not just that date in history, but for the entire month of February!

A cold front did however move through our area last night and now we head back into reality with a chance of some rain/snow/freezing rain/sleet developing today and tomorrow in Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and Fairfield County, CT, with up to a quarter of an inch of ice possible, and rain elsewhere, highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Saturday rain will develop in the afternoon and continue into Sunday morning. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s Saturday and the mid 40’s to low 50’s Sunday.

Monday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of showers. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Tuesday and Wednesday will then be nice with highs in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s.

Next Thursday clouds will increase with a chance of rain or snow developing as a disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Next Friday into Saturday morning there will be a chance of rain or snow as the approaching disturbance may develop into a Nor’easter as it reaches the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Next Sunday then looks nice with highs in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Next Monday is then looking variably cloudy with a chance of rain or snow showers. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Next Tuesday into Wednesday morning there will be a chance of rain or snow as a disturbance approaching from the west may develop into a Nor’easter as it reaches the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Have a fantastic day!
