Saturday, August 18, 2018 - Evening Weather Discussion

Well, is anyone really surprised?

It looks this evening as if the cold front that was supposed to push the developing low pressure area south of us tomorrow, will not push far enough south to do that. This means there is again a chance for heavy rain in parts of our area tomorrow as a Nor’easter develops near the NJ Coast. The best chance for heavy rain will be in East Central and Northeastern NJ, NYC, and on Long Island. Highs tomorrow will be in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s.

Monday and Tuesday will then be variably cloudy with just a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm, but a bit better chance Tuesday night, as a cold front and associated disturbance approach from the west. Highs will be in the 70’s.

There will be a chance of showers or thunderstorms Wednesday, especially in the morning, as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s.

Thursday through next Sunday are then looking nice with highs gradually rising from the 70’s Thursday, to the mid 70’s to low 80’s Friday and next Saturday, and the upper 70’s to mid 80’s next Sunday.

Next Monday is looking variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the 80’s.

Next Tuesday through Friday then look nice with highs in the 80’s.

Have a wonderful evening and let’s hope for the best tomorrow…
