Monday, December 17, 2018 - Evening Weather Discussion

Flooding rain and strong wind likely Friday…

There will be a slight chance of a flurry or snow shower this evening and then tomorrow and Wednesday will be nice. It will however be cold tomorrow, with highs in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s tomorrow and the upper 30’s to low 40’s Wednesday.

Thursday, clouds will increase in the morning, with rain developing in the afternoon and evening as a strong storm system approaches from the Southeastern United States. Highs will be in the mid to upper 40’s.

Friday there will be rain, heavy at times, especially in the morning. Some flooding will be likely with rainfall amounts of 1-3 inches throughout our area. It will also be windy, with gusts of 50 mph possible inland and 60 mph possible along the coast, in NYC, and on Long Island. There could be some clearing late in the day. Since the storm will track to our west, it will cause warm air to surge northward into our area, with highs in the upper 50’s to mid 60’s.

Saturday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a rain or snow shower as the storm pulls away from our area. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Sunday through next Thursday then look nice with highs in the mid to upper 30’s Sunday through next Wednesday and the upper 30’s to low 40’s next Thursday.

Next Friday there will be a chance of rain or snow showers as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.

Next Saturday then looks nice with highs in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Next Sunday there will be a chance of rain or snow showers as another disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the 30’s.

Have a wonderful evening!
