Thursday, January 10, 2019 - Evening Weather Discussion

Significant snowstorm in parts of the Middle Atlantic this weekend…

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny with highs in the 20’s to low 30’s, with some mid 30’s possible in Central NJ.

This weekend a storm system will push through the Middle Atlantic area but will be pushed south of our area by a piece of the Polar Vortex in Southeastern Canada. This will bring significant snow to much of West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware, with lighter amounts into South Jersey, but will likely leave our area with mainly only a chance of some flurries, and possibly a bit of light snow in parts of East Central PA and Central NJ. This is another disappointment for people hoping to see some snow. Anyone who wants snow will now have to hope for the storm next weekend about 10 days away.

Saturday clouds will increase with a chance of some light snow or flurries developing in East Central PA and Central NJ, and a chance of a flurry elsewhere, as a disturbance passes to our south. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.

Sunday will be cloudy with highs in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.

Monday will then be variably cloudy with highs in the 30’s.

Tuesday through next Friday will then be nice, with just a slight chance of a shower early in the day Thursday as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s Tuesday and Wednesday and the upper 20’s to mid 30’s next Thursday and Friday.

Next Saturday clouds will increase with a chance of rain or snow developing at night as a storm system approaches from the Southeastern United States. Highs will be in the 30’s.

Next Sunday there will be a chance of rain or snow ending in the morning, followed by clearing. Highs will be in the mid 20’s to low 30’s.

Next Monday through Wednesday then look nice with highs in the 20’s to low 30’s next Monday, the mid 20’s to mid 20’s next Tuesday, and the 30’s next Wednesday.

Have a wonderful evening!
