Wednesday, September 11, 2019 - Morning Weather Discussion

Hot, with a slight chance for severe thunderstorms today and again Saturday, and then watching the tropics…

Slight chance of severe thunderstorms today and again Saturday and then a tropical system may develop in the Atlantic and head in our direction for next weekend into early the following week (about 10-12 days from now).

Today will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm, any of the thunderstorms that develop could become severe. Click here for the latest Convective Outlook from the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center. Highs will range from the mid to upper 70’s on Eastern Long Island to the upper 80’s to low 90’s in West Central NJ.

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.

Friday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower in the morning, followed by clearing. Highs will be in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s.

Saturday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm, possibly severe, as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will range from the low 70’s in Northeastern PA to the low to mid 80’s in West Central NJ.

Sunday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm at night as a weak disturbance passes through our area. Highs will range from the mid to upper 70’s in Northeastern PA to the mid 80’s in inland Central NJ.

Monday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower in the morning, followed by clearing, as the disturbance departs our area. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s.

Tuesday through next Thursday, September 19th, will then be nice with highs gradually rising from the mid 70’s to low 80’s Tuesday, to the upper 70’s to mid 80’s next Wednesday, and the 80’s next Thursday.

Next Friday, September 20th, will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm as a cold front slowly approaches from the west. Highs will be in the 80’s.

Next Saturday, September 21st, through next Monday, September 23rd, will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day as a cold front approaches from the west and a tropical system approaches from the Atlantic Ocean. Highs will gradually drop from the upper 70’s to mid 80’s next Saturday, to the 70’s next Sunday, and the upper 60’s to mid 70’s next Monday.

Next Tuesday, September 24th, is then looking variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm as the cold front and tropical system pass by our area. Highs will be in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s.
