Sunday, September 25, 2022 - Daily Weather Discussion

Showers and thunderstorms will develop from west to east today, with a continued chance =for a shower or thunderstorm tomorrow, and then all eyes turn to Ian, which will make landfall Wednesday into Thursday morning…

Tropical Storm Ian is continuing to move westward through the Caribbean Sea and will strengthen to a hurricane as it does so. Ian will start turning northward today and will continue moving northward, then turn northeastward, making landfall between Fort Myers and Sarasota on the West Coast of Florida Wednesday into Thursday morning. The remnants of Ian will then move northeastward off the East Coast of the United States, possibly coming close enough to our area to bring us some showers or thunderstorms next weekend, but we will have to wait and see. Click here for the latest on Tropical Storm Ian from the National Hurricane Center.

Clouds will increase today with showers and thunderstorms developing this afternoon and evening from west to east as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s.

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm as some stability will remain behind the disturbance. Highs will be in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s.

Tuesday through Thursday will remain variably cloudy with a continued slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day as some instability will remain in the cool air. Highs will drop from the 60’s to low 70’s Tuesday to the upper 50’s and 60’s Wednesday and the mid 50’s to mid 60’s Thursday.

Friday will be variably cloudy with highs in the upper 50’s to mid 60’s.

Saturday and next Sunday, October 2nd, there will be a chance of showers or thunderstorms as the remnants of Ian may pass just east of our area. Highs will rise from the low to mid 60’s Saturday to the mid 60’s to low 70’s next Sunday.

Next Monday, October 3rd, through next Saturday, October 8th are then looking nice with highs in the mid 60’s to low 70’s next Monday, the 60’s next Tuesday, the 60’s to low 70’s next Wednesday and Thursday, and the mid 60’s to low 70’s next Friday and Saturday.
