Concern growing for the Northern Gulf of Mexico late next week…

I am very concerned about the potential for a hurricane to affect the Northern Gulf of Mexico late next week, probably making landfall on the Florida Panhandle.  Since there have been no tropical disturbances in this area yet this year, the water is extremely warm and could cause this to become a major hurricane before becoming landfall. This is a long way out, but I am quite concerned. Again, this would be for late next week, so we have time to assess. Right now, the National Hurricane Center has this storm designated as Tropical Disturbance 2. Click here for more information about this disturbance from the National Hurricane Center.

As for our area, there will be a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm today in Northeastern PA, Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT, as a disturbance passes to our north. Highs will be in the 70’s.

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm at night as a cold front approaches from the west. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.

Thursday there will be showers or thunderstorms, ending in the morning and early afternoon from northwest to southeast as the cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s.

Friday and Saturday will then be nice, but cool on Friday with highs only in the mid 50’s to mid 60’s, rising to the 60’s to low 70’s Saturday.

Sunday, clouds will increase with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm at night as a disturbance and cold front approach from the west. Highs will be in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s.

Monday, showers or thunderstorms will end in the morning from south to north as the disturbance and then cold front pass through our area. Highs will be in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s.

Next Tuesday, September 27th, through next Friday, September 30th, will then be nice with highs  in  the 60’s to low 70’s next Tuesday, and the 60’s next Wednesday through Friday.

Next Saturday, October 1st, clouds will increase with a chance of showers or thunderstorms developing at night as the remnants of the tropical storm that may hit the Northern Gulf of Mexico late next week approaches our area. Highs will be in the 60’s.

Next Sunday, October 2nd and Next Monday, October 3rd, there will be a chance of showers or thunderstorms as the remnants of the hurricane may pass through our area. Highs will be in the mid 60’s to low 70’s next Sunday and the mdi 60’s to mid 70’s next Monday.
