Saturday, March 11, 2023 - Weather Disucssion

Prior storm worked out pretty much as expected, snow totals posted and then we have to watch the next storm closely which has the potential to be much more significant in our area…

The snow totals today worked out nearly exactly as I predicted in most places.

Moving forward, we need to watch closely the next disturbance that will develop along the Middle Atlantic Coast Monday and Tuesday. This developing disturbance will cause a mixture of rain and snow to develop Monday morning in East Central and Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, and Orange, Rockland, and Putnam Counties in NY State, and rain elsewhere. There could be some light snowfall accumulations in those places during the day, especially in the higher elevations of Northeastern PA.  The rain will then gradually change to snow at night in those places and then gradually elsewhere during the morning hours from north to south across our area. There could be heavy snowfall accumulations in Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and Western Fairfield County, CT.
