Monday Morning Update

Clarity has not come to the forecast for this week, so maintaining the forecast that has been in place for days makes the most sense. There remains a chance for some wet snow on Wednesday night that might accumulate an inch or two in some locations. The Friday forecast is the bigger headache. The British model and the Canadian model continue to advertise a very strong storm, with the British model the most consistent in doing this for the past three runs in a row. The British model is the 2nd best model by accuracy. The European model has been all over the place with this possible storm, so I do not have confidence in its forecast at this point. The American model, which had a blizzard for us on the previous run, still has a strong storm on Friday, that would have the potential to bring a few inches of snow on Friday, but it keeps the main part of the storm just off shore, which could cause the precipitation to fall as either rain or snow. Therefore, the forecast for Friday will remain as it has been all week, there is a possibility of a strong storm, but it remains just a possibility at this point. This week, watch for the possibility of a little wet snow on Wednesday night, and the possibility of a strong storm on Friday that could be either rain or snow, or could miss us completely. Have a great day everyone. I will post an update this afternoon after the mid-day models come out.

  1. That last sentence sounds like you're turning into the NWS - it may rain, snow , or be sunny.... What's your gut say ?

  2. I am just being honest. I am not certain of anything, but my gut says that most people will get a decent snowstorm on Friday.
