Sunday, March 18, 2018 - Evening Weather Discussion

Significant snowstorms possible Wednesday and Sunday…

Tomorrow will be nice with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Tuesday things may start getting interesting as two disturbances approach from the west, reaching the Middle Atlantic Coast Tuesday night and then phasing and turning into a Nor’easter Wednesday. The fact that these two disturbances now appear more likely to phase, means that the storm can track further north and closer to the coast. This will threaten our area with light snow developing Tuesday afternoon and night, then possibly becoming heavier as the storm strengthens off the coast Wednesday, before ending Wednesday afternoon or evening. There is now a chance for significant snowfall throughout the Allentown and New York City Metropolitan areas, including East Central and Northeastern PA, Central and Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State, NYC, Long Island, and Fairfield County, CT. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s Tuesday and the mid to upper 30’s Wednesday.

Please keep in mind that, as is often the case with Nor’easters in our area, any small change in track or development could change who gets snow and who doesn’t. So please be sure to check back for updates.

Thursday through Saturday will then be nice, but with increasing cloudiness late on Saturday. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s Thursday, the upper 30’s and 40’s Friday, and the 40’s Saturday.

Saturday night and Sunday there will be a chance of snow as a disturbance approaches from the west, passing through our area, possibly turning into a Nor’easter off the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the mid to upper 30’s.

Next Monday through Wednesday then look nice with highs in the 40’s next Monday and Tuesday, and the mid 40’s to mid 50’s next Wednesday.

Next Thursday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of showers as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Next Friday and Saturday then look nice with highs in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Have a wonderful evening and please join me in the morning for the latest information…
