Thursday, February 28, 2019 - Morning Weather Discussion

More chances for snow tomorrow and Saturday, and then bigger concerns for parts of our area Sunday…

Today will be variably cloudy with highs ranging from the upper 20’s to low 30’s in Northeastern PA to the mid to upper 30’s in Central NJ.

Tomorrow a disturbance will pass to our south, bringing our area some light snow and snow showers, with the best chances for accumulating snow in southern sections. Highs will be in the mid to upper 30’s.

Total possible snowfall accumulation tomorrow:

Trace to a half inch possible: northern portions of Northeastern PA, Southeastern NY State, Fairfield County, CT

Half inch to an inch possible:  southern portions of Northeastern PA, Northern NJ, NYC, Long Island

One to two inches possible:  East Central PA, Central NJ

One to three inches, with locally higher amounts possible:  Southeastern PA, Southern NJ

Friday night the disturbance will develop into a weak Nor’easter as it reaches the Middle Atlantic Coast, causing light snow and snow showers to redevelop and continue into Saturday morning, with a continued chance for a snow shower or flurry throughout the day. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Total possible snowfall accumulation Saturday:

Trace to an inch possible:  Southeastern PA, Central NJ

Around an inch possible:  East Central PA

One to two inches possible:  Northeastern PA, Northern NJ, NYC, Western Long Island

Around two inches possible:  Southeastern NY State

Two to three inches possible:  Eastern Long Island, Fairfield County, CT

Sunday, a strong disturbance will develop in the Tennessee River Valley and will then move northeastward in our direction. This will cause snow to develop in Northeastern PA and rain or snow to develop elsewhere, becoming heavy at times at night. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Monday, the precipitation will end early in the morning, followed by clearing. Significant snowfall accumulation is likely in Northeastern PA and is possible elsewhere, dependent on the exact track of the storm. Highs will range from the mid to upper 20’s in Northeastern PA to the upper 30’s in Central NJ and on Long Island.

Tuesday and Wednesday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower or flurry. Highs will be in the upper teens and 20’s Tuesday and the upper teens to mid 20’s Wednesday.

Next Thursday, March 7th, will then be nice with highs in the mid 20’s to low 30’s.

Next Friday, March 8th, will be variably cloudy with a chance of snow showers. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.

Next Saturday, March 9th, is then looking nice with highs in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.

Next Sunday, March 10th, there will be a chance of rain or snow as a disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Next Monday, March 11th, and next Tuesday, March 12th, will then be nice with highs in the mid 30’s to low 40’s next Monday, and the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Tuesday.

Next Wednesday, clouds will increase with a chance of rain developing at night as a disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Have a fantastic day!
