Tuesday, December 18, 2018 - Morning Weather Discussion

Very heavy flooding rain and strong wind likely Friday…

Today will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a snow shower or flurry this morning, followed by clearing. It will be windy, with gusts up to 40 mph possible this morning. Highs will be in the upper 20’s and 30’s.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.

Thursday clouds will increase with rain developing in the afternoon and evening as a strong storm system approaches from the Southeastern United States. Highs will be in the mid to upper 40’s.

Friday there will be rain, heavy at times, especially in the morning, as a strong storm system passes to our west. Some flooding will be likely with total rainfall amounts of 1-4 inches. It will also be very windy, with gusts up to 60 mph possible. It will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower at night. With the storm passing to our west, warm air will surge into our area, causing highs to reach the mid 50’s to mid 60’s.

This weekend will then be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a snow shower or flurry. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s Saturday and the mid 30’s to low 40’s Sunday.

Christmas Eve will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a snow shower or flurry in the morning. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Christmas Day through next Thursday will then be nice with highs in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Next Friday into Saturday morning will then be variably cloudy with a chance of showers. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.

Next Sunday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a rain or snow shower. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

It then appears as if we may have a chance of a New Year’s Eve into New Year’s Day snowstorm in at least parts of our area, if not our whole area, with a chance of rain or snow and highs in the mid 30’s to low 40’s New Year’s Eve and in the 30’s New Year’s Day.

Have a fantastic day!
