Forecast Accumulations Increased to 6-10 Inches
Based on the late morning runs of the models, I will increase expected accumulations for all of Northern New Jersey to 6-10 inches. The snow should start around 2am and there should be more than 1 inch of accumulation on the ground by 7am and about 3 inches on the ground by around mid-day. The precipitation will increase in intensity in the afternoon and there should be about 6-7 inches on the ground by 7pm on Wednesday. Another inch or two should fall before midnight and the accumulating snows should end early on Thursday morning, although light snow or flurries could linger into late morning. Total accumulation should be 6-10 inches throughout all of Northern New Jersey, and possibly even into New York City itself. Low temperatures Friday and Saturday morning will be in the teens.
