The Return of Winter
The latest runs of both the short-range American model and the European model show the snow beginning around 4am on Monday morning, with about an inch or two of accumulation prior to changing to sleet around 9am and then rain around 1pm on Monday afternoon. Things may then get VERY interesting on Wednesday as light snow starts around 7am and gets heavier toward the afternoon. Moderate to heavy snow may fall on Wednesday afternoon and night as the storm approaches from the west and intensifies. The storm may actually become quite intense by Thursday morning if the European model is correct with the snow finally lightening up and ending late in the morning on Thursday. Both the American and European models indicate the possibility of more than 6 inches of snow by late Thursday with this storm. The European model actually indicates the possibility of 6-12 inches. Wow.
