So What Happened Last Friday With the Big Storm?

What happened last week was that the strong upper level low that moved across northern New Jersey on Friday morning was supposed to have caught up to the system just off the coast, drawing that moisture into the system and producing heavy snows. Instead, the models only caught up to the fact at the last minute that the upper level system would not catch up to the system off the coast. This resulted in a less intense storm, with less precipitation. On another note, to show the danger of even a little snow in April, someone died in a car accident on Rt. 80 at my exit ramp on Friday during that snow. This is why I take weather so seriously and do my best to get it right. This is a link to the article about the accident where the man died http://www.lehighvalleylive.com/warren-county/express-times/index.ssf/2011/04/rochelle_nj_man_killed_in_hope.html
