Rainy and Warm Workweek, Cool and Dry Next Weekend

Today and tomorrow there will be a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms and it will be warm with highs in the upper 70’s to near 80. A cold from will start to approach the area toward the end of the week and as the front gets closer the showers and thunderstorms will become more prevalent on Tuesday and of greater intensity as well on Wednesday and Thursday. There is a chance of some heavy rains, in the 1-2 inch range on Wednesday and Thursday, which could cause some flooding, although it does not appear to be a serious situation. The cold front will finally pass through Northern New Jersey on Friday night drying things out but also cooling things down substantially, with lows next weekend in the upper 30’s to middle 40’s and highs only in the middle to upper 50’s.
