Saturday Afternoon European Model Update
The Saturday afternoon run of the European model backs off slightly on the flooding threat from the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee as it now brings 2-3 inches of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, but it now brings the strongest threat yet from Hurricane Katia on Saturday. The center of Katia would pass within about 150 miles off the coast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, and then about 200 miles off shore of New Jersey on Saturday. This would be close enough to bring some light rains from the outer-bands of Katia to coastal New Jersey and Long Island, with some significant affects felt on coastal New England, especially Cape Cod, as the center passes only about 100 miles off shore of Cape Cod. Of course, it is still too early to tell her exact track, as this would still be 7 days away. We will likely have a much better idea of her track on Monday. I will keep you updated.
