Friday Morning's Weather Discussion
Well, I have been talking about this storm here on this blog since the evening of the 17th, 11 days ago. It looks like my ideas were correct all along and all of Northern New Jersey should see significant accumulations of snow tomorrow, and possibly very significant. Today will be a very nice day with a high in the upper 40’s, tomorrow rain or snow beginning around 8am, changing quickly to snow in the higher elevations and shortly thereafter in most other locations, except far eastern sections of Northern New Jersey where it will change over to snow in the late morning or early afternoon. Snow will be heavy at times and will end around midnight. Total accumulations will generally be 6-12 inches with the lower amounts in the lower elevations and the higher amounts in the higher elevations, except far eastern sections of Northern New Jersey where accumulations should be 3-6 inches. Some locations in the higher elevations could receive more than 12 inches. Morning high temperatures will be in the upper 30’s to lower 40’s, dropping to the lower to middle 30’s rapidly after the precipitation starts and hold steady throughout the day. Sunday will be a nice day, but cold in the morning, with a high in the lower to middle 40’s. Monday should also be a nice day but cold in the morning with lows in the middle to upper 20’s and high in the upper 40’s. The rest of the week will be relatively nice with the chance of showers on Tuesday and Thursday and lows generally in the 30’s and highs in the 50’s. Next weekend could be quite nice with a chance of some showers next Saturday but temperatures may be warm next weekend with highs in the 60’s.
