Major Nor'easter with Big Snows Likely on Saturday!

Well, it looks like I may end up having been right all along after all. The European model reverted back to what it had 2 days ago, and the British and Japanese models never backed down on the big storm idea at all. The American model, well it got closer over night and it should finally catch on today at some point. I had a strong feeling yesterday that I should have not backed down in my forecast and I should have left it alone. It was a tough call, so my only regret may end up being having taken out the snowfall amounts yesterday, but it is not over until it is over. Things can still change of course; this is Mother Nature we are talking about. Anyway, right now, my forecast will revert to my original forecast from 2 days ago. Rain or snow starting between 6 and 8 am on Saturday and quickly changing to snow in higher elevations and changing to snow in all elevations by late morning, except in far southeast Northern New Jersey (like Newark for example) where it will change to snow in the afternoon, snow ending between 6 and 8pm in most locations. Total accumulations of 6-12 inches in most locations with 3-6 inches in far southeast Northern New Jersey (like Newark for example). 12-18 inches amounts are possible in the highest elevations of Northeast New Jersey (areas like West Milford for example), morning highs in the upper 30’s to lower 40’s, dropping to the middle 30’s by afternoon and the lower to middle 30’s by evening. Sunday should then clear out and be nice. Next week will feature a chance of rain on Tuesday as a warm Nor’easter may affect our area with rain, which could be heavy depending on the exact track that the storm takes. Then a cold front may approach on Thursday with a chance of a shower late in the day. Then next weekend there will again be a chance of a warm Nor’easter with rain. This is not a good sign for winter when we will have access to more cold air, unless of course you like snow.
