Sunday Evening's Weather Discussion

Monday there will be variable cloudiness with rain developing in the evening and continuing into the night. The high on Monday should be around 60. Tuesday will be a nice day with a high mainly in the upper 50’s. Then rain will develop on Wednesday as a cold front approaches our area from the North. The high on Wednesday will be mainly in the middle 50’s. The front will stall over our area on Thursday as a wave of low pressure develops along the front and moves through our area on Thursday with some rain. The front will then start to move south of our area as that storm passes by, causing temperatures to fall throughout the day on Thursday. Temperatures will start out in the morning on Thursday in the upper 40’s to lower 50’s, dropping to the middle 40’s in the early afternoon, the lower 40’s in the evening, and into the middle to upper 30’s overnight. Meanwhile another storm will be approaching our area on Thursday evening, just as the cold air is moving in to our area on Thursday night. As precipitation becomes heavier on Thursday evening, and after the warming of the sun is gone, the rain should change to snow, which should continue throughout the night and end in the early morning hours on Friday, possibly ending before sunrise. Total accumulations should be 1-2 inches in the valleys, 2-3 inches in the hilly areas, and as much as 3-6 inches in the higher elevations. The ground will still be warm, so the snow may only accumulate on the grassy surfaces in many locations, although the hilly terrain and the higher elevations could have accumulations on the roads as well. Friday should then clear out but be cool with a high in the middle to upper 40’s. Next weekend will feature a chance of snow flurries and snow showers with lows generally in the lower to middle 30’s and highs in the middle to upper 40’s.
