Sunday Morning's Weather Discussion - Lots of Uncertainty About Thursday

Those of you hoping for snow, you have a chance on Thursday, but first, today it will be quite nice with a high in the lower 50’s. Tomorrow should also be a nice day with a high in the middle 50’s. Tuesday there will be showers as a cold front approaches our area. Wednesday it should clear out after the cold front passes through our area. Then on Thursday, a storm will form in the Southeastern United States and move in our direction. Questions remain as to how close this storm gets to our area. It definitely looks now that it will be cold enough for snow both at the surface and aloft, so any precipitation that falls on Thursday would be snow. It is difficult to say though how close the storm will get to our area. If the storm remains south and east of our area we would either miss the storm completely or get only very light accumulations. If the storm moves further north like the latest run of the American model is showing, it would result in significant accumulations. The European model keeps the storm just to our south, missing us or just bringing us some flurries. I do not know what will happen. Anything is possible, from a complete miss to our south and east to a major snowstorm, to even the possibility of rain, although that would be the least likely scenario now in my opinion. The only thing I can say for sure is that I will be checking future runs of the models very closely and I will keep you updated. Stay tuned.
