We will see some nice over the next week, but it will be
noticeably cooler next week and it may also get a bit rainy toward the end of
next week as well. The best chance of
showers and thunderstorms will be on Saturday night as a strong cold front
approaches that could again bring some heavy showers and thunderstorms into our
area, although they should not be anywhere near as bad as with the last storm. After that cold front approaches things will
get much colder behind the front, with highs only in the lower to middle 60’s
for Sunday through Tuesday, and lows probably getting down to the upper 30’s in
the colder valleys of northwest New Jersey. Possibly even into the middle 30’s
in the coldest locations, with the outside chance of a light frost in those
locations. Then for next Thursday through Saturday we may
be dealing with a weak upper-level low dropping down from Canada that could
stall our in our area, bringing with it colder temperatures and an easterly
flow of air off the ocean, keeping us rainy and cool. The Center for Climate Prediction from the
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will issue its updated long-range
outlook later this morning and I will post an update this afternoon.
