Winter Pattern May Be Developing ....
The weather pattern for the winter may be starting to develop next week with the storm on Tuesday and again later next week on Saturday. If this pattern for storms were to continue through the winter, it would mean verification of the current long range forecast from the National Weather Service, which is for above normal temperatures and near normal precipitation. Next week's storm on Tuesday is quite interesting because it will be the first storm of this coming season to develop and it will be doing so in a traditional spot for winter-type storms, along the Gulf Coast. The storm then tracks west of us, through Pennsylvania and up into New York State. This pattern would cause warm air to surge into our area ahead of the storms, causing rain, even if it were cold the day before the storm. Of course there is no guarantee that this will be the pattern, it is just a couple of storms at the moment, but it is something to watch. Often the pattern can be seen long in advance, but not always.
