Bloomberg in New York

There is a lot of talk in the weather forecasting community about his decision to not start evacuations and that he has made statements about Monday being a "normal work day".  Put plainly, the weather forecasting community is wondering what the heck he is thinking and who he is getting his advice from, or is he doing this on his own?  Likely a terrible decision that will cause people to take this storm less seriously.  The weather forecasting community is shocked and stunned by this lack of understanding what is about to happen.  We are thinking that possibly this is due to the fact that the National Hurricane Center has apparently decided to hand off the storm to their local offices since Sandy is technically no longer a hurricane, but a hybrid between a Hurricane and  a Nor'easter.
