A consensus is starting to develop that Sandy will come
ashore between coastal Maryland and Eastern Long Island. I am really starting to think though that the
European model will be correct again with it showing landfall on coastal
Maryland. This would really save us the
biggest headaches from this storm as the strongest winds and heaviest rains
would then remain to our south. I
believe this will be the path of the storm at this time. Coastal sections would be hit quite hard with
this track though as the winds would continuously pound the beaches with huge
waves and at a time of high tide too. I
am very hopeful that this track holds.
The American and British models continue to have Sandy in a much worse
location, coming ashore between Sandy Hook and Coastal Long Island, which would
be horrible for us, but the track that the European model takes would really be
wonderful for us. Stay tuned.
