We will see some showers and thunderstorms late this morning
and this afternoon as a cold front passes through our area, bringing some
short-lived cold air into our area. This
cold air will only last one day, and then things will warm back up into the 60’s
for the rest of the 10-day period. The
possible heavy rain event for this weekend has moved up to Friday now, when we
could get very heavy showers and thunderstorms with a strong upper level low-pressure
system moving down into our area from Canada.
This system could draw a lot of moisture out of the Gulf of Mexico and
off the Atlantic Ocean, bringing with it the potential for 2-4 inches of rain
throughout our area on Friday, which would cause flash flooding. Stay tuned.
After this system moves through on Saturday morning, things will clear
out and remain warm for the rest of the 10-day period.
