Sunday Morning's Weather Discussion - Surprise Rain Tomorrow - No Frost On Tuesday - First Chance of Some Flakes on Friday - First Frost/Freeze on Saturday

There are quite a few changes to the forecast over the next 10 days. The rain will not be quite as bad today as originally anticipated, and will wait until the late morning to get started, so the high temperature will likely manage to reach the lower 50’s in most locations. Tomorrow another low-pressure area will form along the front, which is probably the reason today’s storm is not quite as strong. This second storm will bring rain back into our area tomorrow, and will again keep things cool with highs only reaching the lower 50’s. The cloud cover from this storm will keep us warm enough that we do not have to worry about a frost in the morning on Tuesday, which will then be variably cloudy and a bit warmer, but probably still not breaking out of the 50’s.  Wednesday will be a bit warmer ahead of the next storm, with a chance of showers in the afternoon and the highs likely breaking the 60-degree mark.  Thursday is likely to be our nicest day in a while with mostly sunny skies, but cold with a high only in the middle 50’s.  Then things could get mildly interesting for those of you who would like to see some winter-type weather again.  A very strong cold front will move through our area on Friday, bringing the coldest air of the season behind it.  This cold air, moving across the still warm Great Lakes, will bring a bit of moisture with it, producing showers in our area ahead of the front on Friday morning, which could possibly mix with or change to some snow showers behind the front on Friday afternoon or evening, especially in the higher elevations.  This is only an interesting possibility that is worth mentioning.  Even if we manage to see some snow showers or flurries on Friday afternoon or evening, the temperatures will be in the 40’s, so we do not have to worry about any travel concerns at all.  The high temperature will only reach the lower 50’s on Friday, but when the showers move in, temperatures will quite quickly drop to the lower to middle 40’s, and even the upper 30’s in the higher elevations, hence the chance of some mixing of the precipitation.  Saturday should then be a beautiful day, but quite cold with the low temperature in the morning in the lower to middle 30’s, with the first widespread frost or freeze of the year in our area, and a high temperature only reaching the lower to middle 50’s.  Next Sunday and Monday will then feature a chance of showers, especially on Sunday, although both days should be mild, with highs in the middle to upper 60’s.  Next Tuesday should then clear out with a high in the lower 60’s.
