Short-Range American Model Update
The new American short-range model has maintained the increased precipitation. I am not crazy about this model, but in theory, it should be better than the last run of the European model because this is a rapidly developing storm and this model has 12 hour newer data. It is using the same data from 7am this morning that the European model will use when it comes out at 1pm. The model is now showing a widespread 6-10 inches of snow throughout Northern and Central New Jersey with localized areas in excess of a foot. It holds the start time back to 1-2 o'clock, ending in the early morning hours tomorrow. I will not yet change my official forecast however from 2-6, locally 8 inches until after I see the European model at 1pm
