Tuesday Morning's Weather Discussion - Significant Snowstorm Possible Next Wednesday, With an Appetizer Possible on Tuesday Morning

Well, the European and American models are now showing the post-Thanksgiving Nor’easter potential that I have been talking about for the past week.  Both models show the potential of a significant snowstorm here next Wednesday, with the possibility of a little appetizer on Tuesday morning according to the European model before the real deal shows up on Wednesday.  First, though, we will continue to see wonderful weather until Friday night, with temperatures reaching the middle 50’s for Thanksgiving Day and Friday.  Then a cold front will approach on Friday night, bringing just a slight chance of a shower on Friday night and a slight chance of a snow shower on Saturday as some Lake Effect snow flurries could make it into our area.  Then there is a possibility of some light snow next Tuesday morning that could accumulate a dusting to an inch, as a strong cold front sinks just south of our area and a weak disturbance moves along it, potentially bringing just a touch of snow with it.  Then the real deal may take place on Wednesday as a strong piece of energy may move into the Southeastern United States along the front, then move north along the front, possibly forming into a Nor’easter along the East Coast and affecting us with significant snowfall on Wednesday.  This is all a long way out and things could certainly change quite a bit, but that is how things look right now.  Check back for updates or changes.   Again, on a side note, the bowling team at Indian Hills High School in Oakland, NJ is doing a fundraiser for Superstorm Sandy relief.  I would encourage everyone who reads this blog to consider donating $20 to Superstorm Sandy relief, and with your donation, you will receive a “The Edge Weather” T-shirt.   Again, proceeds will be going to Superstorm Sandy relief, and will benefit people who were affected by this terrible storm.  If you attend Indian Hills High School or know someone who does, please see an Indian Hills bowler, Mr. Michels, someone from the Technology Department, or Mr. Edgerton with your donation of $20 cash, or check made payable to “Indian Hills High School”.  Thank you.
