Friday Morning's Weather Discussion

A weak storm system is approaching our area today and will bring some showers this afternoon and tonight, then this weekend will warm dramatically, with highs reaching the 50’s to near 60 on Sunday night.  The warmest temperatures will occur on Sunday night into early Monday morning, as warm air surges ahead of a cold front that will move through our area on Monday morning.  It had looked as if a storm might form along this front and move through our area on Tuesday, bringing a chance of some bad weather, but that storm now looks less likely to form, so I removed it from the forecast.  I will however keep any eye on the potential.  Another cold front should move through on Thursday night as a stronger storm develops over the southeastern United States.  This storm will have to be watched closely, because at the same time that the storm is moving in our general direction cold air will be pushing into area.  The storm may however move out to sea south and east of our area and miss us, so check back for updates.  This is the same storm that yesterday appeared as if it might be for next Saturday night, it moved up to a potential storm on Friday of next week.
