Well this surprise snow last night did not work out at
all. Yesterday I had put a chance of
some snow showers or light snow for last night with a dusting of accumulation
possible. That forecast was
perfect. Then some of my favorite models
came out yesterday afternoon and suggested the possibility of an inch or two,
and they are usually right, so I added that possibility, thinking they must be
right. Well, no. On the other hand, the American models showed
nothing and that was not right either. I
see what the models were seeing that showed the snow. They saw a band that
formed this morning and brought a dusting of snow to some locations. They were right about that and the American
models did not see it at all, but my favorite models over-did the amount of
snow that would fall from it. I have
given them a detention for lying to me. Anyway,
moving forward, it will be cold today with highs staying in the 20’s and the next
chance of precipitation will be with some snow showers on Sunday. Then the storm I have been talking about for
quite some time will likely still happen but the only affect on our area should
be some snow showers on Monday, Monday night, and Tuesday, as the main effects
should be off shore. Then the Friday
storm will be the next one to watch, and this storm will also likely bring us
some snow showers on Thursday night and Friday, but the Nor’easter itself may
not form until Saturday according to the European model. We shall see.
It will also be very cold next week with the highs possibly only getting into the teens some days and the lows dropping into the single digits some mornings. Check back for updates. Happy
Friday everyone!
