Yes, I Know the National Weather Service is Not Making a Big Deal About This

The National Weather Service has us down for a mix and is not making a big deal out of the Tuesday night into Wednesday morning storm.  Well, I DISAGREE!  The European model and the short-range American model both have us down for all, or nearly all snow.  The European model says we could start briefly as rain before it changes over to snow, plus the ground will be a bit warm, so I am keeping the accumulation down a bit to 2-5 inches.  If this were all snow I would go with 3-5 inches but I am figuring that we could lose an inch or two to melting at the start, but the European model is an extremely good model in this range and it says this is almost all snow throughout Northern New Jersey from roughly Rt. 78 North. There you have it.  Below is the post I made on January 3rd about this storm, 11 days ago!  It is not going to exactly be a big Nor'easter, but not bad huh?

Warmth Next Week... And Then......

Well, we are going to see a chance of a little light snow that could leave a dusting in many locations early on Sunday morning, then we will see warmth next week that will melt all the snow as we approach or exceed 50 degrees by the end of the week.  Then..... I am having one of those feelings that I have had before.  I could be totally wrong, but what the heck, sometimes I nail these things from two weeks out, so here we go.  Next weekend the warmth will come to an end rather abruptly with the passage of a cold front.   Then early the following week we could very well be looking at a rather large Nor'easter, in the form of snow.  It is nearly two weeks away, so who knows, but, I am getting one of those feelings, so what the heck.  You know, Weather on the Edge, right?  Why not.  Let me put a date range on this.  Some time between Monday January 14th and Thursday January 17th.  Let's see how this goes.  Should be interesting.
