Early Morning European Model Update
The early morning run of the European model now is doing what the American model did yesterday, it is producing nearly a foot of snow in Northern New Jersey from late afternoon on Saturday into Sunday morning. The model is saying that we could also get a dusting of snow on Friday night, then a break in the precipitation early on Saturday, then it could start briefly as rain or wet snow, prior to changing to snow on Saturday night, with nearly a foot of accumulation. Again, we remain right on the dividing line between rain and snow, but this is the time range in which the European model usually gets a good handle on the storms. Within this range the European model was nearly perfect with the recent blizzard. We shall see what happens, but right now it would be safe to say that there is at least a chance of significant snowstorm on Saturday night, and it actually lingers the snow lightly into Sunday evening.
