A weak storm system will pass through our area tonight,
brining 1-2 inches of snow starting around 10pm and ending around 7am, and then
a Nor’easter will start to develop near Cape Hatteras, North Carolina
tomorrow. This storm will bring some
snow to Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina, and possibly even as far
south as the Florida panhandle. This
storm will then turn north and head up the East Coast, while strengthening into
a very powerful Nor’easter. The big
question is how far off shore this storm will track, and that will determine
how much snow each individual location receives. Right now, the best guess is that this storm
will cause snow to re-develop on Saturday evening for areas just to the east of
New York City, and could bring near blizzard conditions or blizzard conditions
to areas from Eastern Long Island through Eastern New England for Saturday
night and Sunday. We need to keep a very
close eye on this storm, as it has not even begun to develop yet, and until it does,
the track will remain a bit uncertain. A
little wobble in either direction could cause a significant change to this
forecast. Check back for updates. Happy Friday!
