Well, I have been talking for a couple of weeks now about
how I felt a big storm might form in early March. I did not hit the date exactly, but I was
pretty close apparently. This storm will
start to form on Tuesday over the southeastern United States and will then turn
north and head in our direction. The
only question remaining at this point is just how far north this storm comes,
but all major models are now showing the possibility of the storm affecting our
area significantly, and it will be cold enough in the upper atmosphere for the precipitation
to fall as snow. Unfortunately, it will
be a heavy and wet snow as the temperatures will be near or slightly above
freezing. Depending on how much snow and
wind we end up getting, there would be a possibility of power outages next
Wednesday night and Thursday. Of course,
there is still a chance that this storm could miss us completely to the south
and east; however that is now looking less likely. The American model is now showing us getting
6-12 inches of snow, and the European model is showing 1-2 feet. We will just have to wait and see how close
this storm gets to our location.
Remember, there is still a chance that this storm could miss us
completely, then again we could get 1- 2 feet of heavy and wet snow which could
cause power outages. Check back for
updates.
