Friday, May 24th, 2013 - Morning Weather Discussion

Well, yeah, we had some flooding rains yesterday, but luckily no reports of tornadoes.  Now today we will have continued rather ugly weather, although nowhere near as bad as yesterday, with light rain, drizzle, and some showers and temperatures dropping from the low to mid 60’s this morning, to the mid to upper 50’s by afternoon, the low to mid 40’s this evening, and then the upper 30’s to low 40’s by Saturday morning.  Saturday the light rain, drizzle and showers will continue as the storm stalls out and continues to funnel cold air into our area, with the high temperature only in the mid to upper 40’s and it will actually be so cold that snow will be falling from the clouds overhead all day on Saturday and Saturday night (although it will melt and change to rain before reaching the ground).  However, those of you traveling to New York State this weekend, the highs there will only be in the mid to upper 30’s on Saturday and it is possible that the higher elevations of the Catskill and Adirondack Mountains could actually have some of that snow falling from the clouds make it all the way to the ground before melting.  Luckily, it now looks as if the storm will start to pull away early on Sunday morning, bringing the light rain and drizzle to an end and as the sun starts to come out, allowing the temperatures to rise toward 60 degrees.  Then Monday looks absolutely beautiful after a cool start, but the high will get into the low to mid 70’s.  Next week then looks unsettled toward the middle of the week, but temperatures will rise late in the week to the mid to upper 80’s.
